This Vintage Longines Conquest calandar is a classic from Longines rich past when they were a truly great independent manufacture up there with some of the best that Switzerland had to offer.
Its no wonder Longines keep dipping into there back catalogue to reproduce there greatest years although no longer to the same level as these vintage offerings.
The serial number on the movement dates this to 1957,and has the Longines in house Calibre 19ASD and its running perfectly on the timegrapher. Strong amplitude no beat error, + 60 seconds a day.
It has a lovely patina to the dial were there is such a warm colour as the cream dial has now got a warm golden cream hue to it and the double leaf gold applied indices with framed gold date window.
The outer gold ring that runs between the indices adds such a depth & interest to the dial. It has that beautiful enamel applied fish caseback logo.
It has the following measurements 36mm, wide excluding crown , 38mm with crown , lug to lug 43 mm and a depth of 13mm with crystal as this watch was originally designed as a sports watch.
It has a good wrist presence due to its dimmensions and thick long lugs. I have paired it on a lovely Rios calf skin leather strap (£30) so its ready to wear & enjoy. Quadruple signed Longines ,dial, calibre, crown & buckle.
These are increasing in value and the new versions cannot hold a candle to the originals as faithful as they try to be. This is from Longines golden era and when they were a independent manufacture up there with the likes of Rolex,Omega.
Please bare in mind when making offers that this watch is in excellent condition, so take that into consideration when making offers against some sellers vague details and ambiguous descriptions an images.
